Social Issues Strategist
The role
Social issues are important themes for APG—both as a company and in how we invest for our clients. We’re looking for a Social Issues Strategist to investigate how these themes could be further embedded across the entire portfolio, ensuring APG stays ahead of market developments and leads the way in responsible investing.
In this role, you’ll help translate complex trends, regulations, and methodologies into actionable policies, guiding future product and portfolio development. As the subject matter expert, you’ll keep APG at the forefront of market thinking, facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization, and advise on how APG can best use its influence in policy and standard-setting initiatives. You’ll work closely with investment teams to embed social issues into monitoring and steering of the total portfolio, thereby supporting the Investment Committee in their asset allocation decisions.
You’ll join the Responsible Investment Strategy & Partnerships team, a small, high-impact team that punches well above its weight. We work closely with senior leadership, asset class experts, and global partners. Expect a collaborative, forward-thinking culture where your ideas matter, your expertise is valued, and your work shapes the future of investing.

- Bring an external perspective on RI-related data, systems solutions, and market trends to drive agility and efficiency.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions with internal teams and external experts.
- Take on tasks as needed, including survey responses and policy document updates.
What you bring
- Master’s degree in strategy, finance, business, or sustainability.
- 10+ years of experience in Responsible Investment and/or the investment industry.
