APG Asset Management Amsterdam is looking to hire a quantitative portfolio manager to join the Research and Analytics (R&A) team for Real Estate. The R&A team sits at the core of the global APG Real Estate investment team which is one of the largest real estate investors in the world, managing over €50 billion of real estate exposure across hundreds of different investments. We are looking for someone who gets excited about leveraging the newest advancements in AI to manage such a portfolio. We seek a dynamic individual who is a conceptual thinker that can oversee and optimize the flow of thousands of datapoints and coordinate the interaction of various quantitative models – yet at the same time, excels in the practical application using the latest technology.
In your role as quantitative portfolio manager, you will significantly contribute to the advancement of our analytics platform: the Digital Portfolio Manager Samuel. This award-winning platform serves as a digital colleague, offering investment recommendations, enabling efficient bottom-up research on real estate investments, providing new insights and integrating comprehensive data into our decision-making processes. It features a NoSQL knowledge graph database and leverages large language models (LLM), placing you at the forefront of state-of-the-art analytical tools for investing. As a core member of our investment team, you will play a vital role in investment underwriting and decision making. This position is perfect for candidates with a strong quantitative background who are eager to influence the direction of our business with their innovative ideas.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Working within the research and analytics team to further develop the global real estate analytics platform;
• Further professionalize data pipelines, the knowledge graph and analytical tools that are built on top of these;
• Perform thematic research with a quantitative angle on relevant topics to assess impact on underwriting of the investment portfolio;
• Turn the research into robust analytics with minimal maintenance.

We ask for:
• A Master’s degree or higher with high distinction in quantitative methods, mathematics, or another statistical/data-oriented emphasis from a top-tier school;
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a quant developer or quantitative analyst/portfolio manager;
• Advanced coding skills in Python;
• Experience with large-language models, knowledge graphs or BI tools such as MS PowerBI is a plus;
• Value creation mindset over the long term - broad minded, innovative, forward thinker;
• Strong team player and communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
• Excellent English communication skills.
