Job description
We are looking for a Senior RI Product Engineer to join our Responsible Investing (RI) Execution department in the front office, to coordinate, supervise, and drive the activities of the RI Products team, ensuring effective execution of responsible investment (RI) strategies. In this role, you will closely collaborate with the Head of RI Execution as a strategic right hand, taking charge of team activities without direct formal reports. You will play a key role in coordinating efforts, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high standards within the team.
Key responsibilities
- Leadership, coordination & supervision
- Coordinate and supervise the planning and prioritization of team initiatives, overseeing the efficient execution of the team’s responsibilities.
- Act as a key liaison between RI Execution and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on RI data, policies, and products.
- Client reporting & data provisioning oversight
- Oversee, manage, and monitor the team's efforts in defining and implementing reporting requirements for RI-related client reporting.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality ESG/RI data by the team via the Data Platform.
- Supervise the phase-out of dashboards, transitioning to data-driven reporting solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency in all client reporting through effective team management and oversight.
- Develop, refine, and monitor RI-related processes to enhance efficiency and consistency across the team.
- RI product development & implementation
- Represent RI Execution in multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure successful implementation of RI-related changes.
- Oversee and maintain key RI products, including Climate & Nature, Impact Investing, Investability Classifications, RI Indicators, SFDR/EUT Framework & SDIs.
- Ensure alignment of RI classifications, frameworks, and investment processes across the organization.
- Manage ongoing updates to RI products, including process design, asset-class criteria, and governance controls.
You will be based in Amsterdam at our office at Amsterdam Sloterdijk, with the possibility to work from home a part of the week.
Profile
You are an independent and analytical thinker with excellent communication skills, who builds and maintains strong relationships. You have high standards for the quality of your work and your organizational sensitivity towards both the client and APG is well developed.
Furthermore we ask for:
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Sustainable Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in responsible investment, ESG, or sustainable finance.
- Deep knowledge of RI frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory developments (e.g., SFDR, EU Taxonomy).
- Advanced level of data tooling skills (Python, SQL, Pandas).
- Strong experience in investment processes and financial products, with insight into responsible investment integration.
- Proven experience in client reporting, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
- Ability to coordinate, supervise, and manage multiple RI initiatives within a team.
- A helicopter view to oversee complex RI product structures while ensuring consistency across the organization.
