The role
You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing our suite of performance deliverables. This includes performance measurement and analytics across a wide range of asset classes: Fixed Income, Equities, Alternatives, and Overlay.
The team
As a Performance Analyst, you will work in the Client Risk & Performance Management team, part of the Investment Risk Management (IRM) department at APG Asset Management. Based in Amsterdam, this team is responsible for official performance figures used in both internal and external communications.
What you would do
In this dynamic position, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting and Enhancing Performance Reporting:
Preparing and analyzing reports, including:
- Daily reports for portfolio managers.
- Monthly and quarterly reports for clients, investment teams, regulators, and the Board of Directors.
- Maintaining GIPS compliance for APG Asset Management.
- Contributions to annual reports and press releases
Enriching current reports by:
- Digitalizing output for better accessibility.
- Expanding reports based on analyses and client requests.
- Incorporate new investment products for reporting and analysis. Enhancing content quality through improved controls and streamlined processes.
Driving Analytics and Innovation:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining performance measurement and attribution methodologies in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Handling ad-hoc performance-related requests, including direct communication with internal and external clients.
- Supporting clients with quantitative analytics derived from the team’s extensive performance information.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Delivering performance reporting to various committees, including the Investment and Asset Management Risk Committees.
- Conducting performance analyses from a combined performance and risk view
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Portfolio and Fiduciary Management teams and providing proactive feedback on performance related topics.
- Advising on client product offerings from a performance perspective.
What you bring
We are looking for an analytical, hands-on team player with high standards for quality. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and strong in building relationships within and outside the organization.
Requirements:
- A university degree in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in performance measurement within asset management.
- Solid knowledge of financial instruments, markets, and multiple asset classes.
- Advanced proficiency preferably in Python, with proven experience in developing analytical tools, statistical models, and automated reporting processes.
- Familiarity with additional tools such as Alteryx, Qlik, and other programming environments.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior management and navigating complex organizations.
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
CFA, VBA, or CIPM certifications are a plus.
