APG Asset Management is looking to expand its Global Private Equity Co-Investments team with at least two hires in Amsterdam! We are considering candidates with varying levels of experience. Job titles, responsibilities, and compensation will be commensurate with a candidate’s level of experience.

The Co-investments team currently has 14 employees, all based in New York, and is looking to expand into the Netherlands with these new hires. APG’s Co-investments team is highly active, having invested over €10bn across approximately 150 deals globally.
Job description
You will work as part of the Global Private Equity Co-Investments team making direct equity investments in primarily growth and buyout transactions alongside our relationship private equity managers across a range of sectors, with a focus on investment opportunities in the Netherlands and broader Europe. You will collaborate closely with team members in New York, playing an essential role in the execution of co-investments. Your thorough due diligence and analyses will be key in assessing new co-investment opportunities, as well as in monitoring our co-investment portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsibilities will vary based on level of seniority but generally will include:
- Performing diligence and analysis to assist in the selection and execution of co-investment opportunities in companies across a range of industries, such as Information Technology, Healthcare, Industrials, Communication Services, Consumer, and Financials, among others, and including through APG’s Impact Investing mandate;
- Supporting deal teams in the evaluation process, including by (i) preparing diligence plans / questions and analysis of diligence materials; (ii) creating and / or reviewing operating / LBO models; (iii) forming a perspective on the transaction including attractiveness of the industry / company, key issues, and overall risk / return profile, and (iv) preparing and presenting investment proposals;
- Monitoring performance of portfolio companies, including providing support in periodic reporting activities and the evaluation of follow-on investment opportunities in existing portfolio companies;
- Assisting with various internal projects;
- And contributing to APG’s continued global leadership in responsible investing.
Job requirements
As a member of the Co-Investments team, you are intellectually curious and eager to learn, have strong analytical / technical skills (including financial modelling), and are able to work productively both individually and within a team setting. You work in a structured way and have clear and effective communication and presentation skills. Additional requirements and competencies include:
- 2 to 12 years of relevant work experience in the fields of private equity, M&A, investment banking, and management consulting;
- A strong academic record with a Master’s degree or equivalent;
- Solid communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form;
- Ability to manage multiple projects / investments at any given time;
- Excellent people skills with positive attitude and disposition;
- Proactive and diligent with strong attention to detail.
