The position of DevOps Engineer within the Shared IT Services has various specializations and challenges. Whether it involves contributing to the further development of DevOps practices or deepening your knowledge of infrastructure components such as SQL Server. For this position, we are specifically looking for a mid-level SQL specialist who possesses comprehensive knowledge of the SQL Server infrastructure component. This role matches the experience you bring to the table and the added value you provide to the team.
The role
You are responsible for managing our on-premises SQL environments. You ensure that all backups are in order and that the infrastructure is continuously running and available. Additionally, you automate the infrastructure using scripting and orchestration, which increases the efficiency and reliability of our management tasks.
In addition to supporting internal clients within APG, you perform performance monitoring and tuning for our internal IT organization. In terms of security and compliance, you focus on automating security and compliance requirements within our data platforms. This is essential to meet increasingly stringent regulations and to ensure the security of our data.
What you would do
- Managing and maintaining on-premises SQL environments.
- Ensuring all backups are correct and up-to-date.
- Guaranteeing the continuous availability of the infrastructure.
- Automating infrastructure management with scripting and orchestration.
- Performing performance monitoring and tuning for internal IT systems.
- Automating security and compliance processes on data platforms.
What you bring
You are ambitious, have strong communication skills and are eager to work innovatively with your colleagues. You enjoy tackling large tasks and strive for continuous improvement. What we are looking for and what you need to bring:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT.
- At least 5 years of experience with SQL.
- Knowledge and experience in an Agile work environment (Scrum/Safe/Kanban/DevOps).
- Knowledge of (and possibly certification in) ITIL processes.
- A positive critical attitude, while always seeking solutions.
- Proficiency in the Dutch language.
- Knowledge of the following techniques/methodologies:
SQL Server DBMS
Powershell
Orchestration
Windows Server Operating System
