The role

As a leading financial institution, we strive to provide innovative solutions to meet the financial needs of our clients and partners. Our IT department plays a crucial role in ensuring reliable, secure and scalable systems. To further optimise our infrastructure and software development process, we are seeking a mid-level DevOps Engineer with Python skills to join our Self-Service & Data Science team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our developers and infrastructure teams to improve the development and release process. You’ll play a key role in automating processes and developing advanced CI/CD pipelines for optimal workflow.

What you would do

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining development platforms and in-house applications for data acquisition and processing, and integrating with development support systems.
  • Developing and maintaining Azure DevOps deployment pipelines for our applications, ensuring control throughout the development life cycle.
  • Supporting users of the Python development platform. This includes helping manage software through version control with Git and using DevOps tools to maintain code quality.
  • Collaborating within Azure DevOps for the smooth integration of new features and systems via automated pipelines and task management.
  • Optimising and automating software development.
  • Maintaining and managing Linux environments for both development and production.
  • Supporting business users, such as traders and portfolio managers, in developing tools and applications to aid in their daily work.
  • Managing the use of open-source software within the organisation to ensure security, compliance, and stability.

What you bring

Must-haves:

  • A degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Mid-level Python skills (around 3 years of experience) and experience in process automation.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, including building, maintaining, monitoring and logging deployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of containerisation (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux and managing Linux systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch.

What we offer you

Depending on your relevant knowledge and experience, we offer you a gross salary between €4,300 - €6,200 based on a full-time contract, along with excellent benefits with an emphasis on flexibility, including:

  • A guaranteed year-end extra payment of 8.33%.
  • We pay appropriate attention to your well-being and personal development.
  • The possibility of working from home two or three days a week.
  • And needless to say, a good pension scheme
