The role
We offer a senior DigiPod Developer position in the Investment Management Services (IMS) DigiPod. The - newly introduced - Digipods act as controlled self-service units for the Capital Market investment teams to empower these teams to make more informed and effective (investment) decisions. The Digipods target consistent digital maturity and capabilities across the Capital Markets department while closely collaborating with the Operations department who also sets the IT & data standards.
The IMS DigiPod works closely with the RI Execution team and the Index Solutions team to build self-service solutions to operationalize the RI and index investment ambitions of our clients. You will coordinate the book of work and manage the team, in addition to hands-on software development and maintaining solutions that are used by the IMS department. You will also work closely with the Data Office to migrate prototypes to robust solutions and act as a functional owner.

The senior DigiPod developer will report to the Head of Investment Solutions.
What you would do
The main responsibilities of the senior DigiPod developer include the following:
- Own, maintain and develop new (prototype) functionality in Python/Databricks/SQL/Power BI for the RI instruments of our clients that can be used by the IMS specialists;
- Oversee and coordinate the book of work of the DigiPod. People management of the IMS DigiPod comprising of three DigiPod developers and two digipod analysts;
- Work closely with the key stakeholders, including RI Execution and the MultiDisciplinary project teams that perform leading research to facilitate the RI ambition of our clients, to develop an IMS roadmap, vision, and priority setting for the DigiPod and Data Office;
- Foster collaboration and contribute to the DigiPod community with the three other Digipods to ensure consistency in technology, way-of-working and data governance;
- Represent the DigiPod in IT-related meetings with internal stakeholders and take functional ownership of intermediate RI data platform until the platform will be migrated to the Data Office.
What you bring
As a senior DigiPod developer you have a self-starting attitude. You have a proactive, hands-on and pragmatic mindset with a strong result-oriented focus. You know how to develop software in a team setting and you are a team player with a healthy ambition. You are technically strong, your work is accurate and your software engineering skills are well-developed. You ask the right questions at the right moment and are able to manage a team of four.
Additionally, you have:
- An academic degree/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or an equivalent qualification; a CFA charter or an equivalent qualification (e.g. VBA Investment Management, CAIA, etc.) would be preferred;
- Professional programming and software engineering skills (Python, Databricks, SQL, Power BI or Qlik) and the ability to handle large financial and ESG datasets.
- At least 10 years relevant developer experience;
- A solid understanding of the institutional capital markets and sustainable (index) investing;
- A passion for data, technology and AI in asset management, ambition to ensure continuous improvement and a drive to operate in a demanding, performance oriented work environment;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English and Dutch;
- Management skills and ability to set directions.
