We are seeking an experienced and strategic Team Lead for the Private Equity Mid-Office to join our Global Private Equity team in Amsterdam. This role is pivotal in managing the global mid-office team (Amsterdam and New York) responsible for operational processes, reporting, analytics, and digitalization initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach, ensuring operational excellence while driving innovation and efficiency. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, contribute to strategic initiatives, and guide the team in delivering high-quality outputs for clients and internal stakeholders.
The Team Lead will report into the Manager Private Equity based in Amsterdam.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a global mid-office team (Amsterdam and New York), fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth, with four direct reports.
- Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with APG’s objectives and Private Equity business priorities.
- Act as a key liaison between the mid-office team, investment teams, and senior management.

Operational Excellence
- Oversee and continuously improve operational processes, including cash management, FX transactions, and investment vehicle administration.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for APG and its clients, including ESG and impact reporting.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, auditors, and risk management requirements.
Analytics & Reporting
- Coordinate and review portfolio performance analysis, client presentations, and management reporting.
- Drive data collection and analysis for ESG, sustainability, and impact metrics.
- Support the Global PE leadership team with ad-hoc analysis and strategic projects.
Digitalization & Process Improvement
- Guide the team’s developer and lead initiatives to automate workflows, enhance data quality, and implement digital solutions.
- Oversee ETL process optimization and lead digitalization initiatives in collaboration with the dedicated Quant Developer.
- Evaluate and implement technology platforms to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Operations, Risk, Business Control, to ensure seamless processes and reporting.
- Represent the mid-office function in cross-departmental projects.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in private markets (Private Equity preferred) or related financial services, with a strong understanding of operational processes and reporting.
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with excellent people management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Hands-on approach: willing to engage in operational tasks while providing strategic leadership.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL; familiarity with data visualization tools (Qlik, Power BI) and automation tools (Alteryx) is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry systems (eFront, Geneva, iLevel, Burgiss) and coding languages (Python, R) preferred.
- Excellent command of English (written and verbal); Dutch is a plus.
