Job description
We are looking for a (Junior) Stewardship Specialist to join our Responsible Investing (RI) Execution department in the front office. You will contribute to the execution, monitoring and reporting of our stewardship activities. In this role, you will closely collaborate with the global stewardship team, as well with different portfolio management teams. You will play a key role in executing the stewardship activities, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high standards within the team.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze, execute and monitor voting activities
- Ensure completeness of the account set-up, paperwork, and watchlists to enable voting activities
- Perform voting proposal analysis, execute and monitor voting process in our ISS ProxyExchange Platform
- Monitor adherence to policy and process standards and act as a compliance gatekeeper through review, documentation and audit support.
- Analyze voting behavior for client reporting and/or voting policy update purposes
- Client reporting for stewardship activities
- Consolidate and distribute voting and engagement data and reports to clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders according to the standard schedule.
- Assist in ongoing voting and engagement activities oversight.
- Maintain and update our workspaces on the engagement workflow platform Esgaia, and approve engagement plans in accordance with clients’ investment and/or engagement policy.
- Drive digital transformation within the team
- Identify opportunities for further digitalization and/or automation of our processes.
- Move forward existing digitalization/automation projects within the global stewardship team, including but not limited to voting watchlists update and engagement progress tracker.
- Stakeholder management
- Assist the team with coordination of voting activities on behalf of APG AM clients.
- Maintain relationships with the provider of our proxy voting platform ISS and liaise with custodians and internal stakeholders such as the portfolio management teams and the fiduciary department.
You will be based in Amsterdam at our office at Amsterdam Sloterdijk, with the possibility to work from home a part of the week.
Profile
You are result-oriented, with strong analytical skills, and you are eager to learn. In your work you put a lot attention to details and you are not afraid to deal with large amounts of data.
Furthermore we ask for:
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Sustainable Finance, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of working experience (including internship) in a corporate business environment.
- Good level of data tooling skills (Python/Alteryx, SQL).
- Experience in asset management and/or stewardship activities is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and develop yourself.
