(Junior) DigiPod Developer

The role
We offer a (junior) DigiPod Developer position in the Investment Management Services (IMS) DigiPod. The - newly introduced - Digipods act as controlled self-service units for the Capital Market investment teams to empower these teams to make more informed and effective (investment) decisions. The Digipods target consistent digital maturity and capabilities across the Capital Markets department while closely collaborating with the Operations department who also sets the IT & data standards.
The IMS DigiPod works closely with the RI Execution team and the Index Solutions team to build self-service solutions to operationalize the RI and index investment ambitions of our clients. You will develop and maintain self-service solutions that are used by the IMS department. You will also work closely with the Data Office to migrate prototypes to robust solutions and bridge the experts in the IMS department and the technical specialists of the Data Office.

The (junior) DigiPod developer will report to the Senior DigiPod Developer.
What you would do
The main responsibilities of the (junior) DigiPod developer include the following:
- Develop and maintain new (prototype) functionality in Python/Databricks/SQL/Power BI for the RI instruments of our clients that can be used by the IMS specialists;
- Work closely with the key stakeholders, including RI Execution and the MultiDisciplinary project teams that perform leading research to facilitate the RI ambition of our clients, to develop prototypes and facilitate the research engine;
- Work closely with Index Solutions to facilitate index construction research, develop and maintain index monitors, and index revision tooling. Work - ad hoc – with the other IMS teams including Operational Due Diligence, Business Management, and the Investment Specialists;
- Participate and contribute to the DigiPod community with the three other Digipods to ensure consistency in technology, way-of-working and data governance;
- Represent the DigiPod in IT-related meetings with internal stakeholders and work with the IT and Data specialists to migrate the intermediate RI data platform to the Data Office.
What you bring
As a (junior) DigiPod developer you have a growth mindset and are strongly result-oriented. You have a proactive, hands-on and pragmatic mindset. You know how to develop software in a team setting and you are a team player with a healthy ambition. You are technically strong, your work is accurate and you have software engineering skills. You ask the right questions at the right moment.
Additionally, you have:
- An academic degree/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or an equivalent qualification; a CFA charter or an equivalent qualification (e.g. VBA Investment Management, CAIA, etc.) would be preferred;
- Professional programming and software engineering skills (Python, Databricks, SQL, Power BI or Qlik) and the eager to learn handling large financial and ESG datasets.
- About 2-4 years (junior) or 4-6 years relevant developer experience;
- A solid understanding of the institutional capital markets and sustainable (index) investing;
- A passion for data, technology and AI in asset management, ambition to ensure continuous improvement and a drive to work in a demanding, performance oriented work environment;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English and Dutch.
