Audit, Risk and Compliance

Audit, Risk & Compliance is about so much more than financial risks

Transferring eight pension funds to the new pension system. We as APG face that challenge. Audit, Risk and Compliance are the side mirrors. They help the business to achieve the transformation in a careful and controlled manner. Identify and manage risks, ensure monitoring and controls are in order. To anticipate new legislation and regulations.

The profession goes so much further than financial risks. Culture and behavior are becoming increasingly important. Integrity consciousness, new technological developments, reputation risks, security & privacy risks, and the pension sector that is increasingly higher on the social and political agenda. Our auditors, risk managers and compliance professionals each play their own role in this. They are professionals who understand the business and set boundaries, but also think along, create opportunities and look further. Because only those who look further will go further.

Monique Greene, Senior Compliance Officer

"I came to work here because of the introduction of the new pension system and the further strengthening of the compliance function. The transition to a new pension system means many new developments. New legislation, a lot of contact with supervisors. I want to help make the transition successful. I prefer to think along rather than be a police officer. Of course I set boundaries. But I also provide guidance. Try to empathize and see what is possible.

I feel respected as a human being at APG. You can be us you are. You just feel that at APG. Colleagues care about each other. I think that is very characteristic of APG."
