What you would do
As Value Stream Manager Data Products Management, you will be one of the key leading specialists within the newly formed Data Office. In this role you will lead the strategy, development, and management of our data products portfolio. You will be closely collaborating with specialist teams both within the new Data Office (Data Sourcing and Distribution and Data Governance & Architecture) as well as within AM (Data Management, Cloud Competence Center & Contracting & 3rd Party Management) in achieving APG AM’s data ambitions. Furthermore, you are managing and expanding the data products portfolio in close collaboration with the CIO stakeholders.
You lead the development and implementation of the strategic direction for APG AM’s data products, as well as the development and implementation of generic data capabilities and common data platform capabilities. In this you work closely with IT/technology teams and other departments to guarantee consistent progress on delivery of the platform, seamless integration in existing systems, and a successful embrace by the business. Additionally, you have the responsibility to align data requirements with data sources, overseeing a standardized process of onboarding high-quality data. The Value Stream Manager Data Products Management will be a champion of APG AM’s incessantly improving accessibility to data.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for crafting, driving and guiding the Data Products vision, strategy, and roadmap, in line with the overarching Data Office strategy and data architecture designs and principles as defined by the Data Governance & Architecture team. Ensuring alignment with the APG’s overall business objectives.
• Design, implement and safeguard processes and systems for efficient, effective and stable high quality data distribution and an unhindered flow of data through the different data layers towards data consumers.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from conceptualization to launch and ongoing management.
• Closely liaise and aligning new data requirements and the subsequent selection of the optimal data sources for new data products
• In close collaboration with Data Sourcing and Distribution ensure that data required for self-service use cases is available in the data platform for further discovery & exploration by the data consumers
• Onboarding of internal and external critical data sources in line with guidelines from (data) governance & architecture and Resilience & risk
• Ensure all data products comply with relevant regulations and best practices in data governance and security.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to understand their data needs and ensure our products meet those needs.
• Manage and mentor the Data Products team, setting performance targets, and leading by example in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and thought leadership.
What you bring
• Academic degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Information Technology, or Business Administration.
• At least 10 years of experience in complex IT or technical environments, with 5-10 years in a leadership position.
• Proven track record of developing and launching successful data products.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data management, analytics, and the use of cloud services, preferably Azure.
• Strong leadership and people management skills manage diverse Agile teams and multiple projects
• Strong communication and strong stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in data governance and security
• The ability to think strategically and analytically
