Job description
APG manages over €600 billion in assets for pension funds. APG plays a leading role in the pension sector and is a leader in the field of sustainable investing.

The Fundamental Equity strategies at APG AM have some € 98 billion under management. As our new Portfolio Manager you will be part of the Developed Markets Fundamental Equities Team which consists of 18 investment professionals. You will be responsible for co-managing the multi-industrials portfolio, investing in equities in global developed markets with a target to outperform the relevant benchmark. The investible universe consists of a number of industries, including among others wind turbine manufacturing, machinery, renewable energy & utilities, transport, automation, and professional services. Mega-trends such as the energy transition and the internet-of-things play an important role in this dynamic sector. You will perform both stock-specific as well as sector-trend research and analysis and maintain detailed valuation models as a basis for security selection. You will have frequent contact with management of companies in the sector as well as with research analysts.

We ask for:
You are a driven professional with a passion for investing and for understanding companies and markets. You have a natural curiosity and are able to organize your own research agenda in an investment-relevant context. You have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You should have the seniority to be a credible challenger of the management teams of investee companies. You have a thorough understanding of the concepts of portfolio risk management, and you have a long-term investment orientation. You are able to perform bottom-up company valuations, and to use large data sets in sector and company analysis. You believe in responsible ownership and sustainable development. Furthermore we ask for:

  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Over 10 years of experience as a Portfolio Manager or Analyst Equities, or in other relevant roles such as corporate strategy or M&A
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following sectors: Capital Goods, Transportation, Professional Services, Utilities, Renewable Energy
  • Proven track record
  • Preference for industry accreditation such as CFA or CEFA/RBA
  • Very good communications skills
  • Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written
