This is going to be your job

The Capital Markets agile team focuses on the infrastructural and strategic components of our software landscape. The systems developed by the team play an essential role in investment activities of APG’s capital markets domain.

As members of the team we build and maintain an outstanding suite of reliable, high performing systems and applications. Your main responsibility is developing and supporting the quantitative investment support systems. These are custom built systems that implement quantitative models on large data sets. The quantitative models are used by the researchers and portfolio managers to manage their assets and improve their returns.

What you will do
In the team you will engineer the ETL-streams for incoming data using MarkitEDM. Your main tasks will be analyzing business requirements, designing solutions, and implementing them. You will also support the day-to-day business by investigating issues or information requests that come from the business users.

What you will need 
For this role the team is looking for a person that has both technical and soft skills. To be more precise you have:

  • A bachelor degree (preferably master) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant area;
  • At least 5 years of working experience in data engineering and ETL development;
  • Strong knowledge of the SQL language (preferable Microsoft SQL Server);
  • Experience with MarkitEDM or would like to learn it;
  • Experience with translating complex functional and non-functional requests into solid designs;
  • Shown a clear interest in financial markets and specifically in equity;
  • Have highly developed communication skills and can easily communicate in English (both verbal and in writing).
It will be considered a plus if you also have:
  • A natural drive to keep up with new developments in programming languages;
  • Are skilled at quickly solving complex problems, learn new frameworks and implementations;
  • Knowledge of C#.NET, Matlab, R or Python;
  • Affinity with, or like to work in, an environment based on the Agile and DevOps methodology.
