Associate Asset Servicing

The role

At APG Asset Management you will be part of the Asset Servicing Team within Operations /Investment Operations and Services. Operations is the administrative heart of APG Asset Management. The information recipients must be able to rely on the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the information provided by Operations. The data is processed to provide high quality control and reporting information for the Front Office, Customers and Supervisors.

 

The Asset Servicing Team consists of 8 professionals with vast experience in this area. The team fulfills a crucial function within Operations, with interaction with all the other teams and departments at APG Asset Management.

 

You will be working mainly in Heerlen and you are willing to work from our Amsterdam office occasionally. Incidentally you are willing to work during weekends (1 or 2 days a year) and you may work on national holidays (1 or 2 days a year).

 

What you would do

As an Asset Servicing Associate you will be responsible for:

  • Processing notifications and issuing relevant event information to Front Office.
  • Collation and processing of client elections within market deadlines.
  • Liaise with internal client teams (i.e. accounting groups, portfolio managers, fund tax analysts, legal and compliance advisors, etc.) to ensure proper handling of corporate action events.
  • Ensure all corporate action data is received and validated in an accurate and timely manner by sourcing information from external data providers, custodians, and issuers.
  • Interpret terms and conditions of corporate action events across various global markets to understand relevant impacts investment portfolios.
  • Submit election instructions to the custodians, prior to established market deadline.
  • Research and resolve internal client inquiries; effectively communicating with internal and external partners.
  • Liaise with custodians, depositories, agents, third party data providers, and issuers to clarify corporate event terms.
  • Ad hoc exception handling.
  • The implementation of improvements in processes, procedures and systems.

 

What you bring

As an Asset Servicing Associate you know how to deal with various situations and you are capable of asking the right questions. You actively network, are proactive and you focus (with) your team on achieving results. Working under daily time pressure in such an environment is not a problem for you and you are familiar with the financial products and their characteristics. You have a “can do” mentality (no 9 to 5 mentality). It may occur that you are required to work on bank holidays and during weekends.

 

Furthermore we ask for:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in financial business economics, business administration or any other relevant degree.
  • No more than 2 years’ experience, preferably within a financial institution / asset management environment.
  • A strong analytical background.
  • Product knowledge of financial markets is a plus.
  • Affinity with automated systems and MS Office in general (including VBA Excel).
  • Specific experience with IT-systems such as Bloomberg, XSP and IMactions is a plus.
  • Knowledge of R or Python or similar programming skills is a plus.
  • Familiarity and/ or affinity with business functions such as: Reconciliation, Data Management etc.
  • An excellent command of English (both oral and written).

 

What we offer you

We will offer you, depending on relevant knowledge and experience, a gross salary in the range of EUR 3.528 - 5.040 based on full-time employment and great employment conditions aimed at flexibility, such as:
